These photos were taken during WWII by USAAC personnel. Most if not all airplanes shown are the B-26 Martin ‘Marauder’ medium bomber.
Some were taken in Paris, France. Others were taken at the Remagen bridge, south of Koln, Germany. Several are from various collections of aircraft “nose-art”. The origin of the majority is unknown (to me).
My father, Robert H. Kegarise, was a B-26 pilot and flew missions over Germany during WWII. Photos of him and/or his crew are among the first shown here.
I believe that these photos are in the public domain. If not, consider them copyrighted by their respective photographers, owners, etc. I have no idea how to give individual credit. I certainly claim no copyright, but I feel that these photos need to be shared. They are part of history.
